Socorro is the lone municipality in the Island of Bucas Grande, Surigao del Norte. It has a total land area of 12,445 hectares with 14 barangays. Its total population is 18,792 with an average annual population growth rate of 1.41%. The municipality boasts of eco-tourism sites: Sohoton Cove, Tojoman Lagoon, Abunohan Cave, and Bolitas Cave. It also has numerous powder-fine white sand beaches, rock islets with magnificent rock formations, virgin mangrove stands and others. Above all, it takes pride of its people and their unique culture.
